Foureyes
May 26th, 2008
Found this little chap sitting on the window sill. I think it’s a Zebra (jumping) spider, showing two of his four pairs of eyes (and you can just see another one toward the back on the right). It was only around 4mm across.

Poland to Salisbury
February 21st, 2008
Shown here at Salisbury Cathedral, this group of figures carved by artist Robert Koenig are ending a journey taken by his mother in 1942 from Poland to the German Nazi slave labour camps and on to the UK where she settled. More of my cathedral shots here.
Spinnaker Tower
February 16th, 2008
Rising 170 metres (557 feet) above Portsmouth harbour, the elegant and sculptural Spinnaker Tower was inspired by the shape of a sail. Building costs totalled just over 35 million pounds. In the first shot below, the black rectangle at the top is the largest glass floor in Europe. More of my Portsmouth photos here.

Hidden stars
January 30th, 2008
It’s amazing how many more stars the camera picks up then the human eye. Here’s a shot straight from camera, which is more or less how it looked to the eye.

Here’s the same shot (cropped a little) processed to bring out the fainter stars. Of course it helps if you’re in an area with low light pollution from street lights etc. I took this in Snowdonia.
